Education has an end;
But learning is a continuous process.
I have always admired people who have mastered their element because of their curiosity. This curiosity of theirs is expressed through the questions they ask first to themselves, then to others.
Adopting this learning method of questioning things can set you on course to being a Maverick.
The attitude that says “I want to learn some more“ and “I want to grow some more” is priceless should you cultivate it. This attitude would lead you to discover some things about yourself that would help you along your way.
Like receiving a lecture in the four (4) walls of a classroom, let us go in this order below:
The Greek Maxim ~ Know Thyself.
“Know Thyself” is the motto of Hamilton College of Lyceum International School (Nugegoda, Sri Lanka). The Latin phrase “Nosce te Ipsum” is the motto of Landmark College.
But Who Cares???
As you go on in life, people would want you to become something you are not. You see parents pressuring their children to marry for status sake, rather than choice (I did not mean to mention Love). You see peer pressure amongst kids. We witness depression take its toll on young adults because they admire a particular celebrity who seems successful.
As we begin to grow and mature in our bodies, responsibility increases, and freedom decreases. Some indeed say adulthood is a scam blah blah blah.
CHAMP, you need to know yourself.
Sometimes you need to spend time alone with yourself. Take yourself out on a date. Can you remember the times you were lonely? In those periods of loneliness, what you need sometimes is not company, but ‘sound wisdom’.
Do yourself a favour and spend time with yourself.
Become grounded and comfortable in your skin, and you will do yourself a big favour.
Bible scholars believe this saying;
“Write the vision, Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance.”
Penning down your purpose and vision for life is great if the information you have consumed is pure and true. If you feed your mind on garbage information, you may end up liking something perverted.
You need to discover your truth and live by it. Your eyeballs are unique, and your fingerprints are unique, hinting that you are special.
Engage yourself more to know what flows naturally for you.
But then, anything good for people and good with God is from heaven; go for it.
Just the way you grow up, your mind should also grow in knowledge. By eating and exercising, your body produces and takes shape. Our mind also develops by reading and meditation.
Rather than sticking to status quo, push yourself and be deliberate.
Now that you know what makes you tick start learning about it. In this day and age of social media, consider joining groups where you all have the same interest. The friends you keep should help fuel these passions of yours.

You will be more expressive and free-spirited when you get into a company that speaks to your spirit.
BE REASONABLE
Of all the points highlighted, the reason for doing things, your WHY (like Simon Sinek says), might be the most important.
When I was in school, teachers hated the “why” question. Often this is because they did not have an answer. They were so busy telling us what to do that they rarely understood why. Highly unreasonable if you asked me.
The most successful people are mavericks who are not afraid to ask “WHY”, especially when everyone thinks it is obvious.
They cut through the clutter of life to see why they are doing something or why something should be done.
In the face of opposition, holding onto your WHY can pump some strength into you like never before.
